The game combines scientific accuracy with fun gameplay elements to educate players about the basic components and functions of a cell.
The development of “Cellcraft” was supported by a grant from the Digital Media & Learning Competition, emphasizing its educational value. The game was crafted with the expertise of biologists to ensure scientific accuracy, and it incorporates a variety of biological concepts and terminology, making it a valuable tool for learning. Players are tasked with growing, maintaining, and protecting a cell across various harsh environments, which adds an element of challenge and engagement to the educational content.
“Cellcraft” has been recognized for its educational value, achieving a blend of entertainment and learning (“edutainment”) that appeals to a wide range of players, including students and teachers. It has been utilized in educational settings to supplement lessons in biology, offering a practical and interactive way to explore complex scientific concepts.
